Last weekend, my friends and I decided to escape the noise of the city and spend two days in the peaceful countryside. We had been feeling tired from work and studying, so we thought fresh air, green fields, and quiet nights would help us relax.
We chose a small village about two hours away by train. It was famous for its scenic views and friendly locals. On Friday evening, we packed light: comfortable clothes, walking shoes, and snacks. We also brought a camera to capture the beauty of nature.
Early Saturday morning, we took the train. The city slowly disappeared as we passed rolling hills, farms, and forests. The sky was clear, and the sunlight made everything look golden. When we arrived, a cool breeze welcomed us, so different from the city's dusty air! We walked to a cozy guesthouse where we stayed. The owner, Mrs. Brown, greeted us with homemade lemonade and told us about nearby walking trails.
After settling in, we rented bicycles and rode to a nearby lake. The water sparkled under the sun, and ducks swam lazily. We had a picnic under a large tree, enjoying sandwiches and fruit while listening to birds singing. Later, we followed a hiking trail up a small hill. From the top, we saw endless green fields dotted with sheep and colorful wildflowers. It felt like a painting!
In the evening, we visited a local farm. The farmer, Mr. Evans, showed us how he milked cows and collected eggs. He even let us feed the chickens! For dinner, we ate at a village café. The food was simple but delicious — warm vegetable soup, fresh bread, and apple pie for dessert. As it grew dark, villagers lit a bonfire near the river. We joined them, roasting marshmallows and sharing stories. The stars shone brightly without the city's light pollution, making the sky look magical.
On Sunday, we woke up early to watch the sunrise. The sky turned pink and orange, and the morning mist covered the fields like a blanket. After breakfast, we explored a small forest, picking wild berries and taking photos. Before leaving, we bought honey and jam from a local market — perfect souvenirs!
The train ride back was quiet. We felt refreshed but a little sad to leave. The countryside gave us peace, fun adventures, and memories we'll never forget. Now, we're already planning our next trip!
A weekend in the countryside teaches you to slow down and appreciate simple things: the smell of rain, the sound of leaves, or the kindness of strangers. It's a wonderful way to recharge and see the world differently.
