Noisy neighbor

When Daniel moved into his new apartment, he was very happy. The apartment was small, but it was comfortable and close to his work. There was also a nice park near the building where he could walk in the evening.

For the first few days, everything was quiet. But on Friday night, Daniel heard loud music from the apartment next door. The music continued until midnight. Daniel tried to sleep, but the noise was too loud. The next morning, Daniel saw his neighbor in the hallway. His name was Mark. Daniel smiled and politely told him about the loud music. Mark apologized and said that he had a few friends visiting him. He promised to be quieter in the future.

For the next week, there were no problems. Then, on Sunday evening, Daniel heard the music again. This time, it was even louder. Mark and his friends were talking, laughing, and listening to music. Daniel looked at the clock. It was already eleven o'clock. Daniel did not want to have an argument with his neighbor, so he went next door and knocked on the door. When Mark opened it, Daniel politely asked him to turn the music down. He explained that he had to get up early tomorrow.

Mark looked embarrassed. He apologized and immediately turned the music down. He also asked Daniel if the noise had been a problem on other nights. Daniel said that it had happened only twice, but he hoped they could keep the apartment quiet at night. Mark agreed. He said he understood because he also liked sleeping peacefully.

After that evening, things became much better. Mark sometimes invited friends over, but he always turned the music down before ten o'clock. Daniel was glad that he had spoken to his neighbor calmly instead of getting angry. A few weeks later, they even started having coffee together in the park. Daniel learned that having a noisy neighbor was not always a problem. Sometimes, it was just a chance to meet someone new.
